What You Can Do
As a nonprofit organization, Quail Botanical Gardens depends upon volunteer support. Volunteers create and staff Garden projects, help with day-to-day garden administration, represent QBG in community and school outreach programs, and lead tours for school children and adults.
If you are interested in an exciting and rewarding place to contribute some time, please consider becoming a volunteer at Quail Botanical Gardens.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
- Receptionist/general office
- Special event staffing (concerts, fundraising events, etc.)
- Outreach programs, both community and classrooms
- Membership
- Garden grooming
- Staffing the Gift Shop
- Working with children and families in the Seeds of Wonder Children's Garden
Interested volunteers can receive docent training in:
- Botany
- Propagation
- Public education
- Garden development
- Nursery management
- Collections/curatorial work
- Conservation
- California Native Plants
Quail Botanical Gardens accepts a limited number of community service / court-appointed volunteers on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and must apply in person in our administration offices, Monday thru Friday, 9am-5pm. Quail Botanical Gardens reserves the right to refuse any applicant.
